The Snuts New York Concert reviews
Katy comes out late
The Snuts perhaps don't realize that a majority of their audience is under 10 years old. They take the stage at 9:30, well after their crew and set are ready, causing fatigue. It's important to understand your audience. Taylor Swift, performing at Soldier Field, started by 8:45 and pleased the same demographic with a more timely show.
The show was heavily reliant on pre-recorded material, making it more of a performance than a live concert. The attempt by The Snuts to connect with the audience felt insincere, with a repetitive scripted show in every city. While the kids enjoyed it, as a genuine show, it fell short. One eagerly waits for the day when the children can attend such events themselves.
It's unfortunate, as The Snuts and their songwriters create music that doesn't make one want to harm themselves. The opening acts Farras and Capital Cities were disappointing, with one even playing the same song twice in their set. It's puzzling why these openers are included when the main act is what the audience is there for. This show felt more like a Broadway performance than a rock concert; Broadway shows don't have openers, and perhaps big shows shouldn't either.
